Mitchell 1 has launched significant updates to its Manager SE Truck Edition, removing the previous nine sub-estimate limit to allow commercial vehicle service shops to create unlimited job revisions. The enhancements to the software’s Job View feature aim to improve repair planning, streamline customer approvals, and help get vehicles back into service faster.
“We’ve taken Job View to the next level in Manager SE Truck Edition,” said Tim McDonnell, senior product marketing manager for Manager SE. “The new capabilities are designed to address real-world challenges at commercial vehicle service locations. They will help providers streamline the process so work can be started to get the vehicle back in service as soon as possible.”
The update allows shops to automatically name each sub-estimate based on its contents, making navigation more intuitive. Service advisors can now label work categories such as “Brake Inspection” or “Cooling System Flush” for clearer organization.
A new Summary tab has been added that consolidates all sub-estimates in one view. The system also includes a secure comment space where advisors can track internal notes without displaying them to customers.
Job View now offers deeper integration with service Recommendations. Technicians can add or link recommendations directly from the Revisions screen, and remove completed items when converting sub-estimates to repair orders.
A Modified Date column has been introduced to show when each sub-estimate was last updated. This helps ensure that pricing and labor rates remain current, which is crucial for accurate customer quoting.
McDonnell explained that the enhanced capabilities “empower service advisors to deliver clearer communication and improve overall management of complex repair estimates.”
Mitchell 1 claims these improvements will not only enhance customer-facing documents but also help shops track profitability at the job level.
